Free throws late in the game helped the Ellsworth boys basketball team to a 47-38 victory over Somerset Tuesday in Ellsworth.
Junior Alex Campbell led the Wildcats (11-7, 7-5 Middle Border) with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Travis Kroll contributed 13 points and seven rebounds while sophomore Chrystian Kulow scored nine points. Senior Lemoine Steffen had six points and eight rebounds.
Tyler Ledbeter scored 12 points to lead Somerset (12-7, 6-6 Middle Border). Gaelin Elmore added 11 points.
The score was tied 18-18 at halftime but Ellsworth outscored Somerset 16-8 in the fourth quarter by shooting 9-for-14 from the free-throw line in the final quarter.
The Wildcats made 17 of 41 shots in the game and 10 of 17 free-throw attempts. Both teams had 10 turnovers.
