OSCEOLA - Ellsworth High School's wrestling team continued its winning ways Saturday as they qualified seven wrestlers for the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament at the Division 2 Osceola Sectional and crowned three champions.

The champions were all repeaters from last season. Jens Lantz topped Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal's Phllip Opelt 3-1 at 113 pounds; Langer pinned Osceola's Mitch Dulon in 5:41 in the 132-pound final and Parker Hines won an 18-9 major decision over Rice Lake's Austin Roberts.

Langer has sectional title number three while Lantz and Hines have both won two sectional titles in a row.

Also qualifying for state are Brent Stockwell, who place second at 126 pounds, Logan Kemmerer, who finished third at 145; Ryan Dickhausen, second at 152 and Gabe Frandsen who finished third at 170.

EHS was the unofficial sectional team champion with 96.5 points followed by Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal 65.5 points, St. Croix Central, 59 points, Somerset 56.5 points and St. Croix Falls with 50 points.

The state tournament for Ellsworth begins Thursday and runs through Saturday at the Kohl Center in Madison.
