Plum City tops Spring Valley in girls basketball

Plum City used two big quarters to beat Spring Valley 48-33 Friday in Plum City.

PLUM CITY - Plum City used two big quarters to beat Spring Valley 48-33 Friday in Plum City.

The Blue Devils (7-11, 7-9 Dunn-St. Croix) took a 10-point lead by halftime after outscoring Spring Valley 15-5 in the second quarter and rolled that momentum into a big third quarter where they took a 46-25 lead.

Tiffany Clare led Plum City with 16 points. Marah Boyer added 12 and Heather Von Holtum had 10. Mariah Olson led Spring Valley in scoring with a season-high 10 points. Emma Gaustad finished with eight points for SV.

Plum City has concluded its D-SC schedule with its best record in three years. The Devils play at Ellsworth Monday and host Gilmanton Thursday in their final regular season contest.

Spring Valley's last chance for a win this season will come Thursday when they take on St. Croix Central.
