MADISON - Both Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestlers Brian Fesenmaier and Andy Bune had to endure a pair of losses in Saturday's placement matches at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament in the Kohl Center. Both wrestlers wound up in sixth place.

Fesenmaier lost 6-1 in his first match to Shiocton's Zach Riehl then gave up a takedown and three-point nearfall in overtime to Iowa-Grant's Brandon Pierick in the fifth place match with the score tied at 3-3.

Bune was beaten 5-4 by Coleman's Lucas Markiewicz in a potential match-up for next week's team state tournament. In the fifth place match Bune was unable to get a takedown on Brillion's William Browning trailing 8-7 in the third period and was in turn taken down in a 10-7 loss.

Still, it will, be the first time in over eight years SV/Elmwood will have multiple place winners at the state tournament.
