TO THE EDITOR: Maybe we should not promote tourism.

TO THE EDITOR: Maybe we should not promote tourism.

The reason is because tourism accelerates the depletion of our natural resources. There is a direct connection between tourism and the depletion of our natural resources, and that connection is gasoline, which is derived from oil.

Tourism is based on human movement. That movement is facilitated by autos, airplanes, RV’s, motorcycles and other conveyances that require gasoline made from oil. Oil companies use frac sand to get more oil, depleting a natural resource.

Tourism is not an essential necessity, so we should stop promoting it to slow the depletion of our natural resources that will be needed in the future to keep our country strong.

On the other hand, if you believe in tourism, you should be doing everything you can to get sand mines to produce more sand.
