Saturday State Sports Briefs: UWM routed by Butler in Horizon League tourney

VALPARAISO, Ind. - Now, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will have to wait to see if its 20 victories is good for a berth in the post-season. The Panthers were knocked out of the Horizon League tournament in a 71-49 rout by Butler.
The Bulldogs dominated inside, outscoring Milwaukee 52-16 in the paint. Butler will play Valparaiso today. Butler was never seriously challenged after halftime. The Panthers cut the lead to a point in the first half, but the Dogs went on a 13-1 run and never looked back. Milwaukee hit just 32 percent from the field, seeing its five-game winning streak ended. James Haarsma led Milwaukee with nine points and six rebounds.
