Western Wisconsin News-- A La Crosse area man was killed in an apparent snowmobile accident in far northern Wisconsin.
PORT WING - A La Crosse area man was killed in an apparent snowmobile accident in far northern Wisconsin.
Bayfield County sheriff’s deputies said they were called around four this morning to a crash site near Port Wing. When they arrived, they found the snowmobiler dead from head injuries. The rider was a 37-year-old man from Onalaska. His name was not immediately released.
The DNR is investigating the incident. Nine snowmobilers have now been killed in Wisconsin crashes this winter. Today’s fatal mishap is the first since February 27th.
