LA CROSSE - A La Crosse man was arrested overnight for the strangling death of a 35-year-old woman. Police Chief Ed Kondracki said the death of Kristen Tabbert-Rodgers was drug-related – but he wouldn’t say much else for now.
44-year-old Izelia Golatt was arrested at his La Crosse apartment by a police Emergency Response Team around 2:30 this morning. An arrest warrant had been issued – but online court records did not show that a criminal charge had accompanied the warrant. Police are seeking a charge of first-degree intentional homicide. Investigators said a man was collecting scrap metal when he found the woman’s body face-down in a dirt lot behind an auto repair shop earlier this week. Police have not said if the woman was killed there – or if her body was dropped off there.
Court records show that Golatt has a pending charge of marijuana possession. He’s due back in court in that case a week from today.
