Boyceville and Colfax will play in the WIAA Division 4 Eau Claire North Sectional final Saturday at 1 p.m., assuring the Dunn-St. Croix Conference of a berth in the state tournament.
The No. 7 ranked Vikings, 23-2, the D-SC regular season champions, beat Fall Creek Thursday evening in Altoona by a 52-42 score. Colfax has been in two state tournaments previously but hasn't gone to Madison since 1978 when they won the championship.
The surprising Bulldogs, who were a No. 5 seed in their bracket, downed Chequamegon in Rice Lake by a 58-47 score. Boyceville improved to 15-11 overall and are playing for their first-ever bid to the state tournament.
The last D-SC team to make it to boys' state was Glenwood City in 2006. Spring Valley had gone two years before.
Colfax swept the season series over Boyceville by scores of 44-21 and 63-52.
