PIERCE COUNTY HIGHWAY MARTELL SHOP REPAIR

Pierce County will accept sealed bids for labor and materials to make structural and associated repairs to the Martell Shop which was damaged by fire and is located at N8017 510th Street, Spring Valley, WI 54767. Bids must be received by mail, or hand delivered, to Ray Dohm, Shop Superintendent, 621 Cairns Street P.O. Box 780, Ellsworth WI 54011 no later than 1:45 p.m. on April 17, 2012, in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Highway – Martell Shop.” The bids will be opened at 2:00 p.m. on April 17, 2012 at the Highway Building Conference Room, Ellsworth, WI. The Pierce County Highway Committee will review and award the bid on April 19, 2012 at 8:30 a.m., at the Pierce County Highway Building, Ellsworth, WI. Bid specifications and documents may be obtained from Ray Dohm, Shop Superintendent, 621 Cairns Street, Ellsworth, WI 54011, (715) 273-5096, ext. 7318.

Pierce County reserves the right, in its sound discretion, to accept or reject any or all bids provided in response to bid documents, regardless of conformity with the specifications, as well as to waive any errors and omissions as well as any technical failure of any bid to be fully responsive. Such discretion shall be exercised in the best interest of Pierce County and its taxpayers. Pierce County also reserves the right to determine who, among the several bidders, constitutes the lowest, responsible bidder for the project in question. Bid price shall remain in effect for 90 days. Pierce County reserves the right to reduce its agreement with the successful bidder to a written contract and until such a time as said contract is executed by and between the parties, Pierce County shall not be bound to the terms of the bid in question. Pierce County is bound only upon the signing and execution of a formal written contract.

The Contract shall be subject to Wis. Stat. § 66.0903 pertaining to municipal wage scales and Federal Davis-Bacon wage rates. The successful bidder must comply with the minimum rates for wages and laborers and mechanics as determined by the Secretary of Labor in accordance with the provisions of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts. The Contract provisions and related matters set forth in 29 CFR Part 5- Section 5.5 will be made a part of the Contract. Attention is called to the fact that no less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. The Wage Decision, including modification, must be posted by the successful bidder on the job site.
