PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The Minnesota Twins received a tenth inning home run from Luke Hughes to seal a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Port Charlotte yesterday.
Pitching was the name of the game in this contest, as two righthanders set to start opening day for their respective clubs squared off. Minnesota's Carl Pavano worked allowed one run in four innings, while Tampa Bay's James Shields tossed four scoreless frames.
The Twins will play Toronto today in Fort Myers.
