First hearing on Vikings stadium to be on Wednesday

ST. PAUL - The first hearing on a new Minnesota Vikings stadium bill is tentatively set for Wednesday afternoon or evening in the Minnesota state Senate.
Governor Dayton is encouraging Minnesotans to contact their lawmakers. Dayton says if the people's voices are heard, he's confident that lawmakers will recognize a stadium is in the public interest. The stadium package may not have enough votes on the Minneapolis City Council and the governor says he plans to meet next week with councilmembers.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the state House committee that will first review the bill reportedly is concerned that the state would be on the hook if electronic pulltabs didn't raise as much money as projected.
