A judge in Madison will be asked today to schedule the spring recall elections on May eighth, with general elections on June fifth for contests with primaries. The committees who sought the recalls, the Republican targets, and the Government Accountability Board have announced an agreement on those dates. They’re part of a request the Board will make today to get more time to review the petitions submitted against Governor Scott Walker and Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch. The Board has been given until Monday to determine if there are enough valid signatures to order both elections. And without an extension, the elections would have to take place on May first and May 29th – which is the day after Memorial Day.
