(Oakland, CA) -- The Timberwolves snapped a three-game losing skid with a 97-93 win over the Warriors Monday night in Oakland.

Golden State erased a 14-point second-half deficit to tie it at 78 in fourth quarter but Minnesota was able to pull out the victory. Kevin Love had a game-high 36 points and 17 rebounds, Luke Ridnour finished with 11 and ten assists and Anthony Tolliver scored all ten of his points in the fourth quarter. Center Nikola Pekovic started but had to leave early in the third quarter because of his sprained ankle. David Lee led the Warriors with 25 points and nine boards. The Wolves travel to San Antonio on Wednesday.

Minnesota Twins right-hander Jason Marquis allowed three runs over four-plus innings in an 8-4 win at the Red Sox Monday afternoon. Pinch-hitter Joe Benson had a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning that sealed the victory for Minnesota. Second baseman Alexi Casilla had three hits, shortstop Jamey Carroll added two and outfielder Josh Willingham drove in a pair of runs. Boston starter Felix Doubront gave up two runs in four-and-two-thirds innings of work. The Twins improved to 11-8 in Grapefruit League play while the Red Sox fell to 9-5-2.

The University of Minnesota NCAA Champion women's hockey team was welcomed home at Ridder Arena Monday afternoon. The players were cheered as the bus arrived on the U of M campus from Duluth. The Golden Gophers hosted the championship trophy for hundreds of their fans a day after beating Wisconsin 4-2 in the Frozen Four. It was Minnesota's third national title in women's hockey.

The University of Minnesota men;s hockey team are the second seed in the NCAA Men's Hockey Regional this weekend at the Xcel Energy Center. North Dakota was awarded the top seed in the West after winning the WCHA Final Five championship Saturday night in St.Paul. Minnesota will face Boston University on Saturday afternoon while UND opens play against Western Michigan. Defending NCAA champion Minnesota Duluth is the number-two seed in the Northeast Regional and plays Maine Saturday in Worcester, Massachusetts (6:30 p.m.). The Bulldogs fell to Denver 4-3 in double overtime in the semifinals of the WCHA Final Five.

The UNiversity of Minnesota women's basketball team routed Bradley 83-59 in the Women's Basketball Invitational quarterfinals Sunday afternoon at Williams Arena. Kiara Buford led Minnesota with 16 points, Micaella Riche scored a career-high 15 and Katie Loberg added 14. The Gophers had a 19-point lead at halftime and opened up a 30-point advantage late in the second half. Minnesota will host Manhattan in the WBI semifinals Friday night at the Barn.
