Ambulance comes first with local paramedic

Her sister got her involved with her hometown ambulance service and Sandy Bjork has put being an emergency medical responder first ever since.
Bjork’s sibling was a driver for the service in Frederic at the time, she said. The unit needed help and, when asked by her family member if she’d join the staff, her answer was “sure.” Although she has occasionally been employed in non-related fields, she’s always returned to an ambulance crew somewhere.
She was hired by Ellsworth’s in 2005; this past December, her paramedic role here became full-time.
