Steve Fiedler, age 57, of Prescott, passed away Sunday, March 18, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Steve Fiedler, age 57, of Prescott, passed away Sunday, March 18, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Steve was born Nov. 20, 1954, in St. Paul, Minn., to Leland and Marlys Fiedler of Prescott, Wis. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1973, and enlisted in the U.S. Army the following December. He served the U.S. Army at Fort Ord, Calif. and reached the rank of Specialist E5. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Rifle Medal. Upon leaving active duty in the U.S. Army he served in the U.S. Army National Guard of Wisconsin.
Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding birds, and listening to the current news. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, and never missed a game, often listening to games on the radio.
Steve is survived by his mother Marlys, of Prescott; siblings Kathryn Benson, of Prescott, Jim (Dawn)of Garner, Iowa, and Karen of Roberts, Wis.; two nephews, Jason (Nichole) Benson, and Jared (Kristie)Benson; one step-niece, Amanda Winters; one great-niece and two great- nephews. Steve is also survived by a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father Leland, and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the Prescott United Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Pine Glen Cemetery in Prescott.
