Three county players on All D-SC basketball teams
Three high school basketball players from Pierce County made first team All Dunn-St. Croix for the 2011-12 season. Five others made the second team.
Three high school basketball players from Pierce County made first team All Dunn-St. Croix for the 2011-12 season. Five others made the second team.
Chase Luebker made the first team for the second season in a row. The Plum City senior led the league in scoring at 20.2 points per game, well of ahead of the rest of the league. He was also fourth in the D-SC in assists.
Elmwood junior Logan Wolf moved up from second team to the first team for this season. He averaged nearly 14 points per game.
Elmwood’s Christina McKune is the first player from the county to make the first team in girls’ basketball since Spring Valley’s Aarynn Deutsch in 2010. McKune finished second in the league in scoring averaging nearly 15 points per game. McKune made the second team last season.
County players who made the second team for boys were senior Tanner Hoyt, junior Kyle Webb and sophomore Zac Webster. Hoyt led the D-SC in assists with 5.3 per game and steals with nearly three per game. Webb was second in the league in rebounding with 9.4 per game. Webster was second in the league in scoring behind Luebker at 14.7 points per game.
Making the second team for girls were Elmwood junior McKayla Brunner and Plum City senior Tiffany Clare. Brunner was second in the league in rebounds.
County players receiving honorable mention for boys were Plum City senior Chad Fox and Spring Valley senior Kyle Bosshart. On the girls’ side, receiving honorable mention were Plum City juniors Heather Von Holtum and Marah Boyer. Von Holtum led the league in rebounds averaging eight per game.
Other first team members for the boys’ were senior Ryan Bloom, junior Lane Olson and Elk Mound seniors Marcus Mauer and Andrew Strom. Strom made the first team last season while Bloom was on the second team.
Other first team members for the girls were senior Cansis Bodsberg of Boyceville, junior Josie Hayes of Elk Mound and senior Ashley Larson of Mondovi. Hayes led the D-SC in scoring at 19 points per game. Bodsberg was on the first team last season.
