Letter: Voter ID editorial shows editors’ bias, he says

TO THE EDITOR: Some anonymous author on the payroll of the Rivertowns newspaper syndicate penned the editorial in last week’s Herald (3-28-12) criticizing Dane County Circuit Judge David Flanagan because he signed a Scott Walker recall petition and didn’t reveal his political bias before ruling on the constitutionality of Wisconsin’s new voter ID law.

The implication is that judges should always reveal their political leanings before passing judgment. Really?

If that’s the case, I’d like to suggest that those who author official newspaper editorials reveal their political leanings and sign their names just like the rest of us. Those who draw political cartoons sign their work, why not the newspaper editors?

Are the Rivertowns editors biased? Well, is the pope a Roman Catholic?
