Letter: The wealth of future generations has been used destructively, he says

TO THE EDITOR: As the main stream continues to play their happy place songs about “recovery,” we are expected to believe that those who caused our conditions are now enlightened with the answers.

We all sang along with the chorus “Green shoots will bring the summer of recovery,” while our own eyes told us that we were getting closer to the abyss. “The new normal” offers only “a jobless recovery.”

If the politicians were correct, then all the “investment” of trillions for bailouts, stimulus, subsidies and debt monetization would have resulted in real production, the economy would be robust, unemployment would be low and Americans would be wealthier. Instead, the wealth of future generations has been used destructively.

Wealth has been stolen from people who made sound financial decisions, to bankers who made risky investments. Hard working people were taxed to buy worthless pieces of paper from billionaires, who should have known better than buy it for themselves.
