Barron County men awaiting charges on illegally selling bath salts
Western Wisconsin News-- Two men from northwest Wisconsin are still awaiting charges, after being arrested this week for the intent to sell a synthetic drug.
BARRON - Two men from northwest Wisconsin are still awaiting charges, after being arrested this week for the intent to sell a synthetic drug.
Authorities executed a search warrant at a home in Barron, and seized 25-thousand-dollars worth of “bath salts.” Officers said they confiscated almost one-and-a-quarter pounds of the drug, which they describe as quote, “the worst attributes of meth, cocaine, PCP, LSD, and Ecstasy.” A 53-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were arrested – and as of this morning, charges had not been posted in the state’s online court records.
Barron County officers said “bath salts” are getting more common in their area. They said the drug can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rates, paranoia, hallucinations, chest pains, and liver failure. Court records show that the 26-year-old also has two other drug charges pending, including possession of LSD and illegal amphethamines. A plea hearing in that case is set for May 9th in Barron County Circuit Court.
