Rain-soaked golf course challenging Masters golfers

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Soft fairways and muddy golf balls are challenging competitors in the 76th Masters – like Madison golfer Steve Stricker.

Stricker says mud on the right side of his ball on the 18th fairway altered his shot and that was just one example on a day where he shot an even par 72.

Stricker is tied for 41st at four over par entering today’s final round on the storied Augusta, Georgia, golf course. He trails third-round leader Peter Hanson by 13 shots going into today’s final round. Hanson is on top after a seven under par effort Saturday. Match him stroke-for-stroke was Phil Mickelson, who is one shot back in second place. Tiger Woods managed an even par round Saturday, but he is a dozen shots off the pace.
