MILWAUKEE - Zack Greinke completely shut down the powerful St. Louis Cardinal batters in a 6-0 victory at Miller Park Saturday.
Greinke got all the offensive help he needed from the bat of Corey Hart when the right fielder went deep twice. Greinke stopped St. Louis on four hits over seven shutout innings for the win. The right hander was undefeated at Miller park last season. Taking the loss was former 20-game winner Adam Wainwright, who sat out all of last season after having Tommy John surgery. Wainwright looked strong in his first starting assignment in a regular season game in more than 18 months. Rickie Weeks also had a home run for the Brewers and Aramis Ramirez and Carlos Gomez pounded RBI doubles. When Hart pounded his first homer in the second inning, it went so high and deep that Cardinal left fielder Matt Holliday didn’t move as it passed overhead.
The two teams wrap up the three-game series this afternoon as Lance Lynn pitches against lefty Randy Wolf.
