The interim tag was removed from Jeff Holst’s title Tuesday.
The 54-year-old was named the new Pierce County Board Chairman. Holst had served as interim chairman the last three months after Paul Barkla resigned in early January.
Holst, who has served on the county board since 2004, was previously the vice-chairperson. That title now belongs to Greg Place. Kosin remains as second chair. He was elected in 1998, currently the longest tenured supervisor.
As chairman, Holst will also chair the finance and personnel committee. He represents District 16, made up of the Town of Diamond Bluff, Ward 1, Town of Trenton, Ward 2, and Town of Oak Grove.
Tuesday’s meeting was the first for Supervisors Robert Mercord, Ruth Wood, Scott Bjork, Cecil Bjork, Dale Auckland, Dean Bergseng and Michael Kahlow.
