Another Twins' win over Yankees

-- Minnesota's Justin Morneau went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI to lift the Twins in a 6-5 win over the Yankees at Yankee Stadium last night.

BRONX, N.Y. - (Bronx, NY) -- Minnesota's Justin Morneau went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI to lift the Twins in a 6-5 win over the Yankees at Yankee Stadium last night.

Jamey Carroll, Joe Mauer and Sean Burroughs also drove home a run for Minnesota, which has won two-of-three on the heels of a three-game slide. Jason Marquis tossed five frames of four-run ball to pick up the win. Matt Capps allowed a solo home run to Derek Jeter in the bottom of the ninth, but held on to record the save.

Minnesota and New York play the fourth and final game of the series tonight at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is 6 p.m.

To make room for starting pitcher Jason Marquis, who was recalled from Double-A New Britain yesterday, the Twins designated Luke Hughes for assignment. The Twins designated Luke Hughes for assignment to make room on the roster.
