WASHINGTON D.C. - The Milwaukee Bucks might have punched their ticket to the NBA Draft Lottery after losing at Washington 121-112 last night.
The Bucks ended a 14-game winning streak against teams below .500. And they fell two-and-a-half games behind Philadelphia for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot with five to play.
The Bucks were up early, but the Wizards used a 10-0 run to go up by five early in the third quarter. They expanded the lead to seven going into the final period. The Bucks got to within three with 1:14 left, but the Wizards held on. Jordan Crawford tied a season-high with 32 points for Washington, despite playing on an injured right ankle. The Wizards shot 56-percent as they won their fourth game in their last six. Monta Ellis scored 31 for the Bucks, who’ve lost four-of-five while their playoff hopes have mostly faded away.
Forward Larry Sanders missed the game for Milwaukee due to stomach flu. The Bucks will play at Indiana tonight.
