Brewers miss out of sweep against Dodgers

--The Milwaukee Brewers lost 4-3 this afternoon to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Miller Park.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers lost 4-3 this afternoon to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Miller Park.

The Brewers missed a chance to sweep the Dodgers at home for the first time in the Crew’s history. And Milwaukee fell below .500 again at 6-7. Andre Ethier put LA in front for good in the third inning with a single which scored Matt Kemp. Kemp also hit a solo homer in the fifth. For the Brewers, Travis Ishikawa hit an RBI double and a run scoring single in his first start of the season at first base. Wolf drove in Milwaukee’s only other run with a sacrifice fly. Aramis Ramirez had two singles and a walk, and he scored once. And Alex Gonzalez went 2-4, as Milwaukee was out hit 9-8.

Aaron Harang got the win, giving up three runs on eight hits in six innings with a walk and four strikeouts. He’s now 1-1. Javy Guerra earned his sixth save, as he struck out the game’s final two Milwaukee batters. In between, former Brewers’ pitcher Jamey Wright struck out five in two innings of relief. Wolf took the loss for Milwaukee and dropped to 0-2. He gave up four runs on seven hits in six frames. Wolf struck out one and walked one, as his ERA dropped below double digits at 8.80.

The Dodgers salvaged a win in their three game set. The Brewers will remain home for the weekend. A three game series against Colorado opens tomorrow night at Miller Park.
