Goodell comes to capital to lobby for new stadium

ST. PAUL - NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be at the Minnesota Capitol today lobbying for a Vikings stadium which has faltered in the closing weeks of the 2012 legislative session.

Governor Dayton says league officials haven't made any threats but did mention Los Angeles is a suitor -- and Dayton says the NFL will make very clear that a stadium bill has to be passed this session.

Republicans say Democrats have not put up needed votes for a stadium bill that their governor wants. House Democrats yesterday tried to revive a Vikings stadium bill that died Monday by moving it to a different committee. Republicans refused, saying rather than trying to cover themselves with a parliamentary maneuver, Democrats and Governor Dayton need to provide the necessary votes in the original committee.
