State golfers failed to break par at Texas Open
Wisconsin Sports-- Neither Wisconsin golfer managed to break par in Saturday’s third round at the Valero Texas Open and both Skip Kendall and Jerry Kelly fell a little farther back in the pack.
SAN ANTONIO - Neither Wisconsin golfer managed to break par in Saturday’s third round at the Valero Texas Open and both Skip Kendall and Jerry Kelly fell a little farther back in the pack.
Going into today’s final round in San Antonio, Kendall is tied for 28th at one shot over par. He shot a one over 73 yesterday, matching the performance of the man on top the leaderboard, Ben Curtis. He’s 10 shots behind Curtis.
Jerry Kelly shot a three over par 75 Saturday and is five over for the first three rounds, good for a tie for 55th. Curtis has a three-stroke cushion entering today’s final round.

Andy North of Madison, and his partner Buddy Clampett, are tied for third place going into today’s final round of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf in Savannah, Georgia. North and Clampett are just one stroke off the lead.
