Prescott teen dies from injuries in car accident

An 18-year-old Prescott teenager died Sunday from injuries sustained in an April 6 car accident.

Derek L. Donley died Sunday at Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul. He was the driver of a Pontiac Grand Am that failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Hwy. 63 and County Road K. The Grand Am then collided with a truck driven by Steven Hines, 54, Ellsworth.

The accident happened at about 7:43 a.m.

Sean Roland, 26, Ellsworth, was a passenger in the car. All three people were transported to Regions Hospital. Hines was treated and released the same day. Roland is now listed in good condition, according to a spokesperson there.
