MILWAUKEE - Zack Greinke won his 13th straight home game and Ryan Braun fell a triple short of the cycle, as the Milwaukee Brewers edged Houston 6-5 at home last night. It was Milwaukee’s 10th straight win over the Astros, the longest current string over any opponent.

The Brewers took a 3-1 lead in the first inning and never gave it up. It was the first time since April 10th that Milwaukee scored in the opening frame. The Brewers were up 6-2 in the seventh when Houston almost caught up with a three-run rally right after Greinke left. Braun busted out of a 2-for-20 slump with an RBI-single in the first, a solo homer in the fifth, and a double in the seventh. Greinke struck out a season-high nine batters in six innings. He gave up two runs on eight hits as he threw a season-high 115 pitches. He gave up his first homer in 18 innings this season to the game’s second batter, Jed Lowrie. Still, Greinke improved to 13-0 in 18 starts at Miller Park since joining the Brewers a year ago. His home winning streak continues to be the longest in the Majors. And Greinke is 2-and-1 overall. John Axford pitched the ninth for his 46th straight regular season save conversion.

Lucas Harrell took the loss, dropping to 1-1. He gave up five runs in five innings. Brian Bugosevic drove in three runs for Houston, which was coming off a 12-nothing rout of the Dodgers on Sunday.

The Brewers can return to .500 with a win over the Astros tonight. Left-hander Randy Wolf faces Houston right-hander Bud Norris.
