Schroeder fans 14 in Panther win over Osceola

HAGER CITY - Brady Schroeder struck out 14 and allowed one run on two hits for Ellsworth in a 4-1 victory over Osceola Tuesday.

Schroeder picked up a complete-game victory and also drove in two runs for the Panthers (8-1, 6-0 Middle Border) who bounced back after their first loss of the season Saturday to Green Bay Preble at the Prescott tournament.

Ellsworth grabbed a 3-0 lead in the third inning and Osceola rallied for a run in the fourth to make it 3-1. The Panthers tacked on another run in the fifth inning and finished with eight hits.

Travis Kroll had three hits for Ellsworth while Dennis Schutz and Brandon Voelker also had hits. Voelker and Jacob Betthauser each recorded an RBI.

The Panthers will face conference co-leader Prescott Thursday in Prescott.
