Spring Valley/PC wins 12-2 over Elmwood

The Spring Valley/Plum City softball team won its third straight Dunn-St. Croix Conference contest with a 12-2 win in six innings over Pierce County rival Elmwood Tuesday.

SPRING VALLEY - The Spring Valley/Plum City softball team won its third straight Dunn-St. Croix Conference contest with a 12-2 win over Pierce County rival Elmwood Tuesday.

Elmwood scored the game's first run and led until the third inning when the Cardinals plated four runs. SV/PC then scored six runs in the fifth inning to send on its way to an early win.

SV/PC's Emily Hofacker had three hits with a double and two RBIs. Three other Cardinal players had two hits. Megan Manor finished with three runs and Alex Larrieu hit a double and drove in two runs for SV/PC.

Winning pitcher Rachel Samdahl struck out eight and give up just four hits. Elmwood also committed three costly errors.
