Nationwide theft ring hits Sam's Club store in Woodbury

WOODBURY - A theft suspect’s T-shirt announced his presence, but staff at a Woodbury retailer likely had no idea the man and his cohorts were suspected in nationwide theft ring.

The man, whose T-shirt read “I'M that dude,” was part of a four-man team that was witnessed removing two 55-inch LED televisions from the Woodbury Sam’s Club.

According to a Woodbury police report, workers at the store identified the men as members of theft ring targeting Sam’s Club stores across the country. Documented losses in those thefts have totaled more than $240,000, according to the report.

Surveillance video from the Woodbury theft showed the men leaving the store with the two TVs and loading them into a vehicle. Total loss: $3,300.
