Plant upgrade completed in Spring Valley

The Village of Spring Valley marked the completion of renovations and upgrades to the village’s wastewater treatment facility with a community celebration and open house event.

SPRING VALLEY--The Village of Spring Valley marked the completion of renovations and upgrades to the village’s wastewater treatment facility with a community celebration and open house event.

Area residents joined village leaders, and federal, state and local officials for an open house event marking the completion of the construction and commencing of operation of the village’s new treatment facility.

The project was made possible with the help of a USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal loan and grant combination totaling over $3.65 million plus a State of Wisconsin CDBG grant in the amount of $250,000. The total cost of the project was $3.9 million.

USDA Rural Development Area Director Susan Larson, representative for State Director Stan Gruszynski, said infrastructure projects like these directly tie into the sustainability and viability of communities.
