Letter: Do you have a right to your own life, he wonders

TO THE EDITOR: Our immoral federal government steals our God-given rights.
The gullible party faithful, whether Republican or Democrat, did nothing wrong except to vote for power greedy politicians who pretend to have your best interest in mind, by permitting you to keep a portion of your own property.
We all want freedom and liberty. No person or group of people has the right to subjugate another person or group. Ignorance repeats these attempts to enslave and history shows that the lifespan of an oppressive government is about 70 years. Castro’s Cuba is not quite 70.
What do you own? You may think “House, cars, land, and boat etc.” but do you own yourself? Do you have a right to own your life?
Economics professor, Ken Schoolland observed:
You exist in time (past, present, and future). This is manifest in: your life, your liberty, and the product of your life and liberty. To lose your life is to lose your future. To lose your liberty is to lose your present. And to lose the product of your life and liberty is to lose the portion of your past that produced it. A product of your life and liberty is your property. …To take life is murder. To take liberty is slavery. To take property is theft. It is the same whether these actions are done by one person acting alone, or by the many acting against the few.
Do others have a claim on your life and liberty? If by dictate, an elite ruler steals some of your property to give to banks, unions, auto manufacturers, solar panel manufacturers, and those who don’t feel like working, do you own your own life? If not free, are we but slaves?
“None are more hopelessly enslaved, than those who falsely believe they are free.” J.W.Goethe
