EPC girls win second meet of season

The Elmwood/Plum City girls' track and field team were winners of an eight-school meet at St. Croix Central Tuesday.

HAMMOND - The Elmwood/Plum City girls' track and field team were winners of an eight-school meet at St. Croix Central Tuesday.

EPC girls scored 133.5 points while St. Croix Central had 120.5 points. Winning events for EPC were Heather Von Holtum in the 400-meter dash; Elaina Danzinger won the 800-meter run; Sarah Gilles in the 300-meter low hurdles and EPC's 1600-meter relay team.

Prescott's girls' team finished fourth led by a pair of wins by Victoria Simones in 1600 and 3200-meter runs and a win by their 3200-meter relay squad.

Prescott's boys team finished second to St. Croix Central 175-147. PHS's Sam Smith won the 100 and 400-meter dashes and the long jump, teammate Cole Hauenstein won the mile run, Nick Jacobsen won the discus and the Cards 1600 and 3200-meter relay teams were both winners.

Both Prescott and EPC along with Spring Valley, will compete in this afternoon's Amery Invitational.
