Freedom Park gets $10,000 foundation grant

The Friends of Freedom Park has announced a grant of $10,000 from the Prescott Foundation for the programs at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center at Freedom Park.

PRESCOTT--The Friends of Freedom Park has announced a grant of $10,000 from the Prescott Foundation for the programs at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center at Freedom Park.

The foundation grant supports the center’s high quality education programs for school children, families and individuals, and also supports many other center programs, including the Great Rivers Confluence Project, the Traveling Naturalist classroom program, and visitor education and outreach.

The Learning Center offers programs for all ages, and the educational gardens, outside exhibits and interpretive signs offer residents and visitors opportunities to learn more about the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers, and their importance to Prescott and the region.

The foundation supports programs which enrich life by fulfilling civic, humanitarian, cultural, recreational, environmental and educational needs in the Prescott area.
