MADISON - University of Wisconsin record-setting running back Montee Ball has been given a ticket for trespassing during the annual Mifflin Street block party in Madison.
Ball was reportedly on the porch of a home along Mifflin Street and the resident didn’t want him to be there. Several residents posted no trespassing signs this year before the event, allowing police to hand out tickets if unwanted people came on their property. Ball was said to be cooperative. Police said alcohol use wasn’t an issue. And, Ball was given a $429 dollar ticket. Violence and excessive public drunkenness at last year’s party led to a stepped-up police enforcement effort this year.

Arizona State University’s leading scorer from last year is transferring to play his final collegiate season for Marquette. Trent Lockett says he wants to be closer to his mother who has cancer. Lockett has already earned a bachelor’s degree in business communication from the Arizona school. In a statement released by his former school, Lockett said the decision to move back to the Midwest was the hardest he’s had to make. He said while the move is based on his mother’s health, he also wanted to make a good basketball decision – and he said Marquette is a great place to play basketball.
