Big win for Elmwood puts them in position to win D-SC Small title

Logan Wolf's two-hit shutout not only gave Elmwood High School's baseball team a 2-0 win over Colfax at home Monday, it also put them firmly in position to challenge for the Dunn-St. Croix Small Division title.

The Raiders are just one-game behind Alma/Pepin in the D-SC Small standings. The Eagles won 9-8 against Mondovi in eight innings yesterday to stay in front with a 6-4 record while Elmwood climbed to .500 at 5-5, above .500 at 8-7 overall. The defending champions, Spring Valley continued to falter as they lost 4-3 to Elk Mound to drop to 3-4.

Wolf struck out nine Colfax batters. Teammate Bryce Unser drove in two runs. The Vikings aided EHS by committing three errors.

Elmwood's next league contest is Thursday at Glenwood City. They play Alma/Pepin again next Monday in Elmwood starting at 5 p.m. Alma/Pepin plays at Spring Valley next Thursday.
