LA CROSSE - La Crosse finally had a dry day yesterday. The National Weather Service said the city ended 10 straight days with at least some rain – and it all added up to two-point-six inches.
Only traces fell during two of those 10 days. Until yesterday, the last totally dry day in La Crosse was April 27th. Meanwhile, the Weather Service spent yesterday confirming the weekend’s total rain in southern Wisconsin. And a spotter north of Fort Atkinson reported the most with three-and-a-quarter inches in a 24-hour period ending at six Sunday night.
Meanwhile, a flood warning continues today on the Fox River at Berlin in Green Lake County. It was about 16-inches above its flood stage at four this morning, and moderate flooding is predicted before the river starts falling tonight.
Forecasters expect isolated thunderstorms to move into Wisconsin later today and this evening. And then it’s supposed to be dry for the rest of the week.
