Twenty-five finalists have been named in a statewide contest for the best new business plan. Entrepreneurs are competing for a total of $200,000 dollars worth of venture capital and start-up services in the annual Governor’s Business Plan Contest.
Those plans include creative functions like cloud-computing, 3D printing, and simulations for flight training. Fourteen of the finalists live in the Madison, and six others are from Metro Milwaukee. There are two from Whitewater – and the others come from Sheboygan, Sussex, and Lake Geneva.
The Wisconsin Technology Council sponsors the contest. Its chairman, Mark Bugher, says the entries show that entrepreneurs can come from both familiar types of industries, and new business sectors. The winners will be announced early next month at the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference in Milwaukee.
