GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers will open their rookie camp today, with about 30 players expected. That includes all eight draft choices, undrafted rookies, and players invited for tryouts.

Under the new collective bargaining agreement, rookie contracts are largely determined by how high they were drafted – and there’s little room for negotiation. Media reports say two draft choices have already agreed to standard four-year contracts – second-round defensive lineman Jerel Worthy, and fourth-round safety Jerron McMillan. And the other six draft picks, including first-round outside linebacker Nick Perry, were expected to sign soon.

The rookie camp continues through the weekend. The first practice is late this afternoon inside the Don Hutson Center, and it’s closed to the public.
