UWRF softball one win away from the DIII nationals
UW-River Falls will play Luther College of Iowa today in the final game of the NCAA Division-Three softball regional at Pella, Iowa.
PELLA, Iowa -- UW-River Falls will play Luther College of Iowa today in the final game of the NCAA Division III softball regional.
River Falls stayed alive in the double-elimination tournament with a 1-0 victory over Luther yesterday. It gave Luther its first loss, so both teams must play again at 11 this morning. The winner advances to the national finals which begin on Friday in Salem, Virginia.
Meanwhile, Carthage of Kenosha was eliminated yesterday from the Bloomington Illinois, falling to the host Illinois Wesleyan 2-1. Linfield of Oregon then went on to beat Wesleyan 6-2 to earn a spot in the national tourney.
