Panthers edge Cardinals 1-0 in softball

PRESCOTT - Stacie Peterson drove in Morgan Christopherson with one out in the seventh inning Monday to lift Ellsworth to a 1-0 victory over Prescott in Prescott.
Christopherson finished 2-for-3 with a run for the Panthers (10-4, 10-3 Middle Border) and Serena Hoisington went 2-for-2. Ellsworth had six hits in the game.
Halle Hatch picked up her first shutout victory of the season. Hatch allowed five hits, walked none and struck out none in the victory for the Panthers.
Ellsworth faces River Falls Tuesday in Ellsworth. First pitch is at 4:30 p.m.
