Ellsworth, Prescott baseball teams both winners Monday

Prescott topped Durand at home 13-3 to outright clinch the MBC title, it's third since 2007. PHS put some distance on a fiesty Panther squad with the big inning, four runs in the third and six runs in the fifth.

Logan Johnson led Prescott in hits with three. He also scored three times and drove in a run. Billy Brookshaw had team-high four RBIs plus a double while Jake Hintz drove in two runs off one hit and scored twice. Mike Lytle was the winning pitcher.

Ellsworth smothered Osceola 14-1 in seven innings. EHS outhit the home team 17-3. James Georgakas hit two doubles and a triple. Brandon Voelker and Brady Schroeder both hit home runs and Voelker and Jake Betthauser each hit a double. Georgakas led the Panthers with three RBIs. He also was the winning pitcher.

The No. 3 ranked Cardinals will go into Thursday's game at Brown Field with a 13-0 league record while Ellsworth is 11-2. This will be the last time the two teams face each other as both are in different divisions in the playoffs.
