PRESCOTT—The Prescott Farmers’ Market will open this Thursday at its new location, Tractor Supply.
Vendors voted at a meeting May 10 to opt for more visibility this year with the move to this larger, grassy site at the junction of Hwys. 10 and 29, north of Prescott.
“Market hours will be slightly later this year to accommodate the after-work crowd,” said Genny Taevs, organizer of the market. “We will be open from 3-7 p.m. every Thursday, through Oct. 11.”
Vendors will offer fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, canned pickles, jams, jellies, maple syrup, homemade candy, breads and other baked goods. New to the market this year will be sewn crafts.
The expanded space offers more room for new vendors. Those who have a fresh food product or craft to sell to the public, such as ornamental vegetables, flowers and plants, should call Genny Taevs at 715-262-8323.
Organizers are preparing to offer SNAP and WIC recipients the choice to use the Quest Card or coupons at this market. This should be ready within six weeks. They pledge to get as many local and fresh vegetables to the community as they possibly can.
