An Ellsworth man was injured Wednesday morning when a lift fell on him while he was working at a home.
Troy B. Langer, 33, was operating a one-person Genie lift while doing some electrical wiring at W6054 US Highway 63 in the town of Ellsworth, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. The wheel of the lift caught the edge of the open floor drain, causing the lift to tip over with Langer inside. When the lift fell, Langer remained inside but struck his head on the concrete floor. He was not wearing a hard hat at the time.
The accident happened around 8:40 a.m. He was transported from the scene by Ellsworth EMS to the Pierce County Highway Department, then air-lifted by Mayo One Air-Care to Regions Hospital. He was listed in good condition, according to a spokesperson there.
