MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Lynx waived a pair of players yesterday. The team parted ways with guard Queralt Casas and forward Julie Wojta from UW-Green Bay.
The defending WNBA champions will open the regular season against Phoenix on Sunday. The opening day roster will look a lot like it did last season, with three Olympians on the grid, including Lindsay Whalen, Maya Moore, and Seimone Augustus. The two new faces on this year's team are first-round draft choice Devereaux Peters of Notre Dame and free agent acquisition Erin Thorn, who came to the Lynx from Chicago.
The Minnesota Lynx will appear on NBA TV a WNBA-high 12 times this year. Each team in the league will be on television a minimum of four times. Washington and San Antonio will be on the station 10 times this season.
