The Spring Valley/Plum City softball team notched its biggest win of the regular season with a 5-3 over No. 9 ranked Alma/Pepin Thursday.
The Spring Valley/Plum City softball team notched its biggest win of the regular season with a 5-3 over No. 9 ranked Alma/Pepin Thursday.
The Cardinals won despite committing five errors. That's because they outhit the Eagles 11-5. They rallied back from a 3-0 deficit with three runs in the third inning and two in the sixth to break the tie.
Winning pitcher Rachel Samdahl kept A/P bottled up at the plate with strikeouts and only four walks.
Four players had two hits for the Cards with Emily Hofacker leading the way with a double and four RBIs. Teammate Nevada Schlegel also had two hits, a double and an RBI.
SV/PC goes one-over .500 at 10-9 overall but is a solid 9-5 in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference. The Cardinals play a rescheduled contest today at home vs. St. Croix Central starting at 5 p.m. and wind-up the regular season Monday at Glenwood City.
