A Hager City man was arrested for operating while intoxicated late Tuesday, May 22, after he had to be pulled out of the vehicle he was driving.
Bryan L. Hemstad, 31, was southbound on State Highway 35 near County Highway VV when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times. The vehicle was on fire and he was trapped inside of it. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department reports they were notified around 11:40 p.m. Upon deputies' arrival, Hemstad was assisted out the vehicle and the vehicle was fully engulfed.
Hemstad was arrested for OWI and transported by Red Wing EMS to the River Falls Area Hospital with undetermined injuries.
Also on scene were Ellsworth Fire Department, Red Wing Police Department and Red Wing Ambulance Services.
The Sheriff's Department said investigation into this accident was completed.
